Morpheein: a homo-oligomeric protein that exists in an equilibrium of readily interconvertible alternate conformations that assemble reversibly into alternate oligomeric forms with different functionality. The alternate conformations of morpheeins are native states of the protein that allow one mechanism of regulation of protein function.
